"Too Many Carrots" by Katy Hudson

"Too Many Carrots" by Katy Hudson

To encourage sharing, "Too Many Carrots" by Katy Hudson is a wonderful choice. In this picture book we meet a rabbit who loves carrots, collects carrots, and brings them everywhere he goes. He loves carrots so much that he fills his home with them to the point where he needs a new place to sleep. His friends all kindly allow him to stay with them, but as Rabbit tries to fit his carrots, each home is quickly destroyed. Rabbit feels badly that he caused his friends to lose their homes, and realizes that perhaps there is a better way to enjoy his carrots.

The details of the illustrations in this book are really fantastic. Childlike innocence is depicted in the characters beautifully, especially Rabbit. This book is sweet, funny, and carries an important message all at the same time.

How are your kids with sharing? Do you have any tips to help encourage it?
